About this event

This is a free workshop-style event, aimed at anyone who is interested in Fun Palaces or practical ways to take action on climate change (or both). A lot of us are beginning to think more about sustainability and what we can do to reduce our carbon footprint in our daily lives. Over the past few months, Fun Palaces have been looking at our own sustainability policies and thinking about ways in which we can be more environmentally friendly - that includes supporting Fun Palace Makers to be more sustainable too.

In this 1.5 hour Zoom workshop we are joined by Daniel Jackson (Trace Productions) who will be talking through some practical ways in which you can make your Fun Palace as green as possible, as well as sharing how you can inspire and empower others to become more climate friendly.

What to expect:

* A short film and presentation introducing Fun Palaces (to catch up anyone who is new to Fun Palaces).

* Practical ideas and tips on how to make your Fun Palace more sustainable

* A chance to meet and discuss ideas with other Fun Palace makers about how you might make your Fun Palace more sustainable this year.

* A chance to ask any questions and share your own thoughts and ideas.

Fun Palaces: Fun Palaces is an international campaign for culture, celebrating creativity and community, with a weekend of celebration every October. Over the weekend thousands of people make Fun Palaces for their own community - sharing skills, trying different things, and making new connections – all while having fun. Last year, there were 223 Fun Palaces – online and offline - and 68,500 people joined in.

Whether it’s finding ways to make your Fun Palace more environmentally friendly, or exploring how a Fun Palace might get more people in your community excited about creative climate solutions, we have a lot to talk about. Let’s jump in.

If you would like to know anything else prior to the workshop or have any access needs, please don't hesitate to contact

If this were an in-person workshop, we would entice people along with the promise of a warm cuppa and slice (or two) of cake, which sadly we can't offer when meeting online. However, we do strongly suggest you bring your own and find a comfy spot to settle into for the workshop.

We hope you can join us!

Please note: while this workshop is free to attend you will need to book a space so that we know who to send Zoom invites to.
