Make a Top from Preloved Fabrics (2-day workshop):Participants will learn to design and sew a unique top using reused fabrics.
NOTE: This is a TWO evening workshop and your booking secures both evenings.
Workshop One (Thursday 28th August)covers choosing fabrics, using and adjusting paper patterns, and cutting.
Workshop Two (Thursday 4th September)focuses on sewing techniques, including inserting sleeves, hemming, and finishing.
This practical, confidence-building session helps reduce reliance on new clothing and turns preloved and cherished items into something new.
About the workshop leader
Iona is a qualified and experienced fashion designer from Manchester who has been making clothes for herself and others for over 40 years. Taught to knit by her Gran at an early aged she has enjoyed being able to create unique one of pieces. Learning to crochet more recently she is keen to use these skills to make fresher looking crochet garments people are keen to make and wear.
Iona has a keen interest in what is being described as slow fashion, helping people learn the skills that will enable them to make pieces that they will want to wear and wear again for years to come, either from local sourced materials or upcycling garments / bedding.
