The Department of Agriculture, Environment and Rural Affairs (DAERA, specifically CAFRE) will soon be launching a new Small Business Research Initiative (SBRI) competition focused on the Sustainable Utilisation of Layer Manure (SULM). This initiative aims to support the development of innovative, scalable solutions to manage nutrients from poultry layer manure, particularly phosphorus (P), and reduce environmental impacts across Northern Ireland.
The application phase for Phase one is due to launch on Monday 30th June and will be open for seven weeks, after which successful applicants will be selected. It is anticipated that Phase one will run through to March 2026.
