Background

As a Uttoxeter community organisation we are invested in the sustainable future of our town. We have been contacted by lots of concerned residents and businesses that want to set up working groups to help make sustainable improvements to Uttoxeter. The group will develop and deliver activities to rejuvenate our town, supporting activities to:

• make Uttoxeter net-zero carbon
• increase local resilience to climate impacts;
• drive sustainable change that supports our communities
• maximise local benefits of these actions in other sectors such as health, agriculture, transport and the economy.

Through these aims we can help combat climate change at a local level and demand sustainable change for present and future generations to enjoy, live and thrive in Uttoxeter.

Agenda

Having seen similar collaborations work for other areas, we are establishing the Sustainable Uttoxeter Network to drive community-led change for the town. This public meeting is to provide an overview of the project and to establish how people want to input into the network.

We are lucky in Uttoxeter to already have a number of groups & organisations tackling similar/linked issues and we encourage them to attend the meeting so we can collaborate without reinventing the wheel.
