Event description
The SVAOW project will conclude in March 2020, please join us to hear how the project has progressed & plans for the future.

About this Event

Rape Crisis Tyneside and Northumberland have been proud to host a Sexual Violence Against Older Women (SVAOW) Project, which commenced on 1st April 2019 and is funded by Comic Relief. The project is based on the work of Dr Hannah Bows from the Centre for Research into Violence & Abuse (CRiVA) at Durham University.

The project was designed to raise awareness that older women do experience sexual violence and it is under-reported. Over the past year we have worked with statutory & third sector organisations and individuals throughout Tyneside & Northumberland and delivered a programme of training to professionals.

This event will also feature our new short film featuring two case studies from our work with women who are aged 60+.

Networking & Information Stalls: This is also a networking event providing opportunities to meet other agencies. Organisations are welcome to book a table to aid information sharing.

To reserve a table, contact Margie Cooper, Community Engagement Worker for Older Women, by Friday 21st February 2020 at enquiries@rctn.org.uk
