Description

About the Day

Audiences are becoming increasingly familiar with ideas of consultation and participation, and the invitation to ‘get involved’ or ‘tell us what you think’ is fast becoming part of the visitor experience. But how can museums turn what their audiences tell them into real actions and opportunities for engagement and development?

Through discussions, practical exercises and a case study, this workshop will consider the various and creative ways that museums can turn their research in to action through effective planning and by developing the right approaches to utilizing and applying audience research in order to put audiences at the heart of what museums do.

The session is designed for those with some experience of collecting information on their audiences, and therefore is suited for those in visitor experience or audience development/engagement roles.
