Join ISEP South West England for an Engaging Lunch & Learn Webinar on Environmental Management of the A417 Missing Link.

The A417 Missing Link project will dual a three-mile stretch of road in the Cotswolds National Landscape, an important route between Gloucester and Swindon that helps connect the Midlands/North to the South of England. The landscape-led scheme will deliver a safe and resilient free-flowing road while conserving and enhancing the special characteristics of the area.

As part of the scheme’s design and construction, care has been taken before and during construction to ensure that it leaves a positive legacy, delivering ecological and environmental benefits, including new habitats and habitat connections for native wildlife including bats, bees, badgers and more to flourish.

This landscape-led scheme is not only creating a vital transport link in the Cotswolds, but also incorporates world-class environmental practices, such as the UK’s biggest environmental bridge, the planting of 100,000 trees, and the repurposing of the existing A417, to respect and enhance the surrounding landscape and habitats.

This session will offer insights into how the scheme is balancing major infrastructure development with biodiversity conservation and ecological enhancement.
