Event Summary

Join us for a fun-filled day trip to Swanage on Wednesday, 14th of May! 🌊 From 11am to 3pm, we’ll explore the charming seaside town, stroll along the beautiful beach 🏖️, and enjoy the fresh sea air 🌬️. Whether you're up for a coastal walk 🚶‍♀️, a visit to local shops 🛍️, or just soaking up the sun 🌞, there's something for everyone! Don’t miss out on a relaxing and enjoyable day by the sea! 🌅

Location

Students will meet outside the old firestation at 10am ( leaving at 10:20am)

We will be returning from the Swanage bus stop at 3:20pm. Please note that this is a public bus and will depart at the scheduled time. It will not be able to wait for late students!

The bus fair is £4 (two singles ) so please be aware you will have to pay this when getting onto the bus.

What to bring

Sun cream/ hat depending on the weather
Swimsuit and towel if you plan to go swimming
A bottle of water to keep hydrated
A packed lunch (or alternative food options will be available in Swanage)
Please wear appropriate and comfortable shoes for walking

What to bring?

A big cosy, warm towel (or a surf robe/poncho preferably). Two towels helps to stand on one getting changedon the beach.
SUPER warm clothes to change into afterwards / wear on the way there (woolly socks / beanies a good idea).
Swim-wear worn underneath clothing on arrival. (Optional)

Accessibility Overview

This excursion includes walking around Swanage please bare this in mind when booking onto the trip. For students with mobility problems, we can make alternative arrangements, though we’d like to meet with you beforehand, to make sure you have the support in place necessary and ensure that we have completed our health and safety requirements. Transport

Travel to and from this event will by public bus . We endeavour to make our events inclusive to all of our students and this includes making it as accessible as we can for disabled people and those with buggies. We are therefore working hard to ensure the bus we use meets the needs of our students who use wheelchairs or are in buggies. In some circumstances, we cannot provide an accessible bus, as these are limited and in high demand. In such instances, alternative travel arrangement can be made via an accessible taxi, accompanied by a member of our staff. If you have mobility problems, we encourage you to contact us at reslife@bournemouth.ac.uk to ensure that appropriate travel arrangements are made prior to this event.

By purchasing a ticket to this event, you have consented to ResLifeBU creating a WhatsApp group chat with other participants. This means that we will add your mobile number to the group chat for this event, and therefore, your number will be visible to others in the group. The WhatsApp group will be managed by our events team and used to give you the full details of the event, including any changes. The WhatsApp group will be deleted within 24hrs after the event has taken place, unless students at the event request photos that have been taken in this case, the group chat will stay live for 7 days, and then deleted. If you do not use WhatsApp, or if you don’t want your mobile number used for this purpose, please do not purchase this ticket through Eventbrite. Instead, email bpwhite@bournemouth.ac.uk to book your ticket. We will then use your email to confirm your space, and update you with any changes to the event, as we do within the WhatsApp group.
