Event Information
Description
Join us in our award-winning yarn shop in Bovey Tracey for a workshop from designer Claire Crompton, author of The Knitters Bible.
A workshop for anyone who has knitted a garment that doesn't quite fit; maybe it's too loose or too tight, too short or sleeves too long. Bring along those garments that you love but aren’t quite right. Learn how to make them fit, by altering the length, adding waist shaping, changing the neckline, adding sleeves, shortening sleeves, adding ribs, removing ribs etc. Also how to alter a pattern so you knit exactly what you want. Learn how to extend the life of a garment by refashioning it; change it from a sweater to a cardigan, add embellishments, borders and more.
Topics include: lengthening, shortening, adding or reducing width, altering the neck, fixing mistakes.
You will need: existing garment(s) to alter, a pattern to alter (optional). Bring yarn and needles, and scissors.
Please bring your own lunch. There are also many local places to buy lunch nearby.
Tea-time treats and refreshments will also be served.
