Get ready to unleash your inner designer and create a one-of-a-kind tracksuit that you can proudly say you made yourself; Don't miss out on this opportunity to learn a new skill and meet like-minded individuals.
Sweatshop is a workshop style bi monthly (2 sessions a month) drop in sewing club. You can come to just one session, or come every week, it depends how much you love making tracksuits!
If you're new to sewing you can expect to sew a sweatshirt in two sessions. Expect to spend time;
Getting to know a sewing machine, and how a simple pattern works.
Cutting out using the straight grain.
Sewing seams
And tricky bits to finish it off like collars, cuffs and waistbands
If you are already confident with a sewing machine, you can have a go on our industrial overlocker, and sew a sweatshirt in one session.
If you want to get straight into designing and sewing your tracksuit you will need fabric!
We have a small selection of offcuts for people to practise on.
We recommend local fabric shop Simply Fabrics for deadstock (sometimes from designer brands)
