Swim the English Channel (inside!) for QE Hospital Charity Diabetes Fund
Event Information
Description
Join us on World Diabetes Day, Monday 14 November as we attempt to swim the distance of the English Channel at the Morris Centre, Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham ('QEHB'), to raise funds for the QEHB Charity Diabetes Fund.
Join doctors, nurses, patients and their families as we take on another one of our cumulative distance sports events!
Come and swim for as long or as short as you like. We are trying to swim the 21 miles of the English Channel between us - that's a total of 1,554 lengths of our 22 metre pool. Come and try the big challenge of swimming a mile on your own (74 lengths), or simply ask people to sponsor you for each length you complete.
Time slots are available for 20 minutes at a time - feel free to book one or more slots.
All the money raised will go to the hospital charity's Diabetes fund, which provides equipment, research and facilities here at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital that benefits our patients and families. Most recently, donations to the charity's Diabetes fund has provided the equipment for the new patient education suite at the hospital.
We can send out paper sponsorship forms, or you can set up an online sponsorship page at www.justgiving.com/qehbcharity
We look forward to seeing you for our Swimathon!
