Event Details

On the 1st of February myself and a team of 99 others will come together and 'Swim4Leukaemia' to take on the 100x100m Swimming Relay Guinness World Record. The Record attempting team will be led off by my younger brother Oliver (10) and anchored by myself and will we be supported by some of Great Britain's finest swimmers including 30 Olympians, Olympic Medalists, World Record Holders, World Commonwealth & European Medalists and over 50 Great Britain Internationals. The Record we will be attempting is 1hour 37mins 53secs, this was set at the the Pizzey Park Sporting Complex in Miami, Queensland, Australia on 29 October 2011. The inspiration for this challenge came when sadly in June 2012 my Mum was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. Without Leukaemia & Lymphoma Researches fantastic work my mum may not be with us today. Swimming has always been a huge part of my life and without my mums support there is no question I wouldn't be where I am today, so I thought it would be fitting if the event I organised was related to swimming. Doors will open from 2pm - with the chance for spectators to chat to some of the swimmers taking part & have pictures and autographs with there favourite stars, there will also be some activities for the spectators to take part in on arrival. Build up for the record attempt will start at 3pm with A selection of swimmers from Trafford Synchronised Swimming Club demonstrating their immensely athletic sport and will be performing a couple of high-energy routines which are current works in progress for the up and coming British National Championships to be held in Sheffield in the Spring. Ex-National Champions, Trafford is one of the North’s premier synchronised swimming clubs based in the Manchester area, and has been established since 1981 & the record attempt will start at 3:30 During the record attempt there will be a raffle with a wide range of prizes to be won!

In June 2012 my Mum was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. Without Leukaemia & Lymphoma Researches fantastic work my mum may not be with us today. All money from the tickets (minus the fee) will go directly to the Charity! The Event will be split with the Swim Clinics taking place early afternoon and with the 100x100 Guinness World Record Attempt taking place afterwards.
