Swimming Home Reading Group
Event Information
Description
Join Whitstable Biennale’s Director Sue Jones, and Learning Curator Sophie Chapman, to discuss Swimming Home by Deborah Levy, the book that inspired this year’s festival title.
A sharp and poetic novel, on relationships, home and exile in which 'desire and speculation, fantasy and symbols circulate' (Tom McCarthy). We will spend the early evening talking through and unpicking the layers of this drama that plays out from Kitty Finch's uninvited arrival to the Jacob’s holiday home in Southern France.
Reading groups, as well as individuals who have read the book, are welcome, and there will be copies of the book available at the library.
The library is wheelchair accesible.
