About this Event
Globalization, new economy and new media changed the way we do business and our way of working fundamentally. We now have more opportunities to work in a different countries and different cultures.
Working in a multicultural work environment is an excellent way to develop both professionally and personally. It is enriching because every team member brings in their own cultural heritage and their own perspective to the workplace. This diversity helps everyone develop a productive flexibility, improve their adaptation skills and it creates an environment where people learn from each other.
However, at times, a culturally diverse team can also be a source of frustration since it represents a wide span of differences in approaches, views, beliefs, and values.
This is why, it is important that members of a team develop cultural competency and cross-cultural abilities. Culturally competent teams know how to take the best of each culture, they benefit from their cultural diversity and they put it at the service of their collective performance. They win together.
In this highly interactive discussion session with Pinar Akkaya, we talk about the culture and diversity, using real life examples coming from participants. If you want to learn about different cultures, are interested in cultural differences or work in a multicultural environment and want to develop your cultural competency, you are welcome to join us!
