  • Are you a young jobseeker?
  • Are you looking for an apprenticeship - earn as you learn new skills?
  • Looking to return to work?
  • Want to meet over 50 local employers and training providers about their opportunities?
  • Are you currently unemployed? - If so, then visiting JobFest is for you!

This event is FREE. Come to STEAM and meet over 50 Swindon businesses and training providers on Tuesday 6th March 2018 - There will be FREE information and advice on local apprenticships and employment opportunities that are currently available in the Swindon area.

JobFest Swindon is funded by Swindon Borough Council and offers the opportunity to meet companies face to face from a wide range of industries including; engineering, construction, training, manufacturing, social care, leisure and technology... who are offering apprenticeships and real career opportunities around the Swindon area.

FAQs

I am looking to return to work, can I come?

Yes. Please just register online.

How many people can I bring with me to attend this event?

As many as you like. But they will need to complete this online registration form before the event.

I am over 25 - can I attend?

Yes. The businesses attending will have information on their company's recruitment, their apprenticeship schemes and current job opportunities...

Will there be refreshments available at the event?

The STEAM shop will be open in the main foyer and limited refreshments will be available in the exhibition hall.

What are my transport/parking options for getting to STEAM?

STEAM is located in the Rodbourne area of Swindon and is approximately 10-20 minutes' walk from Swindon Town Centre.

STEAM shares the historic Churchward site with the McArthurGlen Swindon Designer Outlet, Heelis (National Trust HQ), English Heritage, Historic England and the National Monuments and Records Centre.

Travelling by Rail
Swindon is easily reached via the London Paddington to Bristol line. STEAM is 10-20 minutes walk from Swindon Railway Station.

Turn right outside the Station, stay on the right hand side pedestrian path and keep going until you come to a pedestrian sign that directs you through the GWR tunnel that connects to the Churchward site. Your route will pass English Heritage and Thomas Homes appartments, soon leading to STEAM Museum.

By Bus from Swindon Town Centre
Regular bus services run from Swindon Town Centre. Take number 1, 1A, 19, 19A or number 22. Ask for the Designer Outlet.


What should I bring to the event?

If you want to, you can bring your CV to discuss with the employers and training providers.

There will be Wifi.

Who are you expecting to attend JobFest?

1pm - 2.30pm Closed event - Secondary Schools Only - by invitation.

2.30pm – 6pm General Public - Jobseekers - College Students.

  • College students who will be looking for apprenticeships or employment from June 2018 aged 16-24.

  • Members of the public who are currently looking for work, training and apprenticeships in the Swindon area.

Is the event FREE as per the Eventbrite ticket or is it chargeable?

The event is FREE for general public to attend.

The event is chargeable for businesses.
