Description:
Walk for the people who’ve faced silence, shame and stigma.
Step out for recovery from alcohol and other drug use.
Join us for our Recovery Month Sponsored Walk as we take recovery through the heart of Cardiff. Together, we will walk a scenic route through parks, bridges and cafés, showing that recovery belongs everywhere.
Route overview:
- Meet at Brodies Coffee Co (Bute Park entrance - Gorsedd Gardens, Cardiff CF10 3NP)
- Walk along the park path toward the Secret Garden Café
- Optional stop for a cuppa
- Continue through Blackweir Canal and across the bridge to Pedal Power
- Take a short break at the café
- Head through Pontcanna, up Pen-Hill Road to Thompson’s Park
- Walk through Thompson’s Park and finish at Recovery Cymru Centre in Canton
Please make sure to have water, comfortable shoes, hat and sunscreen if needed.
You are welcome to join for the full walk or just part of it. Whether you walk for someone you love, for yourself, or to support the wider community, your presence makes a difference.
All are welcome.
Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes suitable for walking.
This event is open to people in recovery, friends and family, professionals, and supporters.
Age guidance:
We recommend the walk for ages 12 and up due to the distance and pace. Under 18s must be accompanied by an adult.
