Swiss Social Security System how does it work for Swiss living abroad

A talk by Daniel Pedroletti followed by Q&A
Although the talk will briefly touch on the history of the Swiss Social Security System and its concept,
it will deal primarily with what concerns Swiss citizens living abroad and more particularly in the UK.
Daniel Pedroletti was born and educated in Switzerland. After studying business and working for a health insurance fund in Lausanne, he moved to the UK in 1968. In 1969, he briefly worked in the City for an insurance broker and underwriters at Lloyds. He joined the staff of the Embassy of Switzerland in London in 1970. During that time, he became the Swiss Foreign Affairs specialist in Voluntary AHV/IV-AVS/AI-OASI/DI matters. After 33 years, he took up a managerial post with the Federal Department of Finance, Swiss Compensation Office, Voluntary Insurance, in Geneva as Head of the Contributions Section. He retired in February 2008. He is a long-standing member of several Swiss clubs in London and currently President of the New Helvetic Society.
