Description

Switchboard's LGBT History Month Concert

On Friday 23rd February Switchboard, the national LGBT+ helpline, will host an LGBT History Month celebration at the renowned London classical music venue, The Gresham Centre.

Hosted by award-winning comedian Rosie Wilby the event features a diverse array of performers including the London Gay Men's Chorus, aclaimed string quartet Anything Goes, acapella choir The Noteables and Let It Shine’s Jordan Charles. There'll be music from acclaimed harpist Mike Parker and we'll hear readings from LGBT Poet Laureate Trudi Howson and poets Dean Atta and Artie Carden.

Set in the intimate, historic surrounds of The Gresham Centre near St Paul’s Cathedral, the event will include classical and contemporary music, poetry, choral and ensemble music and instrumental performances from rising voices from the LGBT+ community and beyond.

About Switchboard

Switchboard, the national LGBT+ helpline, is one of the UK”s longest, continually running LGBT+ charities and is entirely community funded and volunteer-led. Set to celebrate their 44th birthday on the 4th March, the event is at once an LGBT History Month celebration and a vital fundraising opportunity for the charity which answers approximately 15,000 calls annually supported by a community of 180 volunteers answering calls 10am-10pm, 365 days a year.

Venue Accessibility

The Gresham Centre has ramp access to the front door, but sadly no access WC at the moment, (although a wheelchair can get to the door of the closet but not inside).
