About this event

  • 4 hours

We are excited to announce that the in person South West Technical Meetup for 2024 will be held on the 5th June at Exeter Science Park, Exeter, EX5 2FN.

The Meetup will open at 09:30, with presentations starting at 10:00 and the event will close at 13:30.

Due to the nature of the agenda, this meetup will be solely an in-person event, we will not be hosting the Meetup online.

This event is open to technical staff from organisations across the South West. Whether you are interested in learning more about the work we do, or wanting to hear some of the expert speakers featured, if you're an IT/cyber security professional in the South West (UK) we would be thrilled to have you attend!

We are delighted to announce that Marc Alexander from Microsoft, Jonathan Murch from the Met Office and Jason G from the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) will be our speakers for the event.

Marc will be discussing the threat of phishing and how to strike the balance between effective end user training, and how its success is dependent upon how good your technical tools and security controls are.

Jonathan will be providing an insight on the benefits experienced in consolidating on Microsoft 365.

Jason's talk will focus on the Cyber Assessment Framework, what it is, and how it will help you build cyber resilience.

There is a ticket limit of 2 per organisation. If you have a requirement for more tickets, please get in touch via the email address below.

If you have any questions you would like to ask in advance, please email us at swcyberprotect@avonandsomeset.police.uk
