Can I attend if I am not a Babraham PhD student?

Absolutely! The symposium is open to all postgraduate students of the University of Cambridge working in life sciences.

Do I need to attend the whole day, or can I just join for one session?

While we would love everyone to enjoy the full day, we completely understand that other commitments may arise. You are very welcome to join us for either the morning or afternoon session.

I’m nervous about presenting my work or a poster in the conference

It’s very common to feel that way! That’s exactly why this student-only symposium exists: to help you build confidence and gain experience presenting your research in a supportive environment. The audience will be made up of fellow postgraduate students making it a friendly environment.

SymBLS is an annual student-led symposium organised by PhD students at the Babraham Institute, bringing together postgraduate students from the University of Cambridge who are pursuing research in the life sciences.
