We are pleased to invite you to Synchronise - an exclusive three day conference hosted by the National Physical Laboratory (NPL), in collaboration with Spirent and the Royal Institute of Navigation (RIN).

This special event will provide the opportunity for researchers, academia, early career students and SMEs to connect, network and share insights on the current and future landscape of ‘timing’ in Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT). Expect keynotes from industry experts, interactive presentations and panels, live demonstrations and a specialist training session.

NPL, celebrating its 125th anniversary this year, is the home of UK time and provides accurate and secure timing, traceable to the global time scale, Coordinated Universal Time (UTC).

Next Gen Nav is the RIN’s flagship conference showcasing early career research and innovation in the PNT space connecting early career professionals and industry leaders.

Conference highlights:

  • bridging the gap between early career professionals and employers

  • offering insights into the state of the industry from both an employer and early career professional perspective

This conference is designed for: ‘Early career’ individuals - we understand they aren’t just young professionals in the beginning stages of their career journey. They can also include people who are:

Networking reception

To round off the event, we invite you to join RIN, NPL and Spirent for an evening reception of networking, with drinks and canapés.

Women in Navigation: The RIN would also like to encourage women working in navigation and PNT to meet and connect for a brief half hour session during this time, sharing experiences and insights to support future resource and diversity in this field.

Synchronise PNT Workshop: Skills and Training

Friday 24 October | 9.30 (for 10.00 start) to 14.30

Join in person at NPL

A half-day dedicated to science communication and PNT training with short technical training workshops designed to help early career attendees build and develop their skillset – led collaboratively by NPL, the RIN and Spirent. This will be followed by a networking lunch.

This workshop is designed for:

  • early career individuals
  • young professionals in PNT
