Synthetic & Novel Psychoactive Substances
Overview
This training event focuses on the emerging challenges posed by various synthetic drugs, including synthetic cannabis (spice), synthetic opioids such as nitazines and fentanyl, as well as counterfeit benzodiazepines. Participants will gain insights into the chemical properties, effects, and risks associated with these substances, which are increasingly prevalent in today's drug landscape.
In addition to synthetic cannabinoids and opioids, the training will cover other substances like xylazine, GHB, hash oil, DMT, MDMA, and ketamine. Attendees will learn about the latest trends in usage, potential health impacts, and the legal implications surrounding these drugs. This comprehensive approach aims to equip professionals with the knowledge necessary to address the complexities of substance use in their communities.
The event will also emphasize harm reduction strategies and effective intervention techniques. By fostering a deeper understanding of these synthetic drugs, participants will be better prepared to respond to the challenges they present and be able to provide harm reduction advice.
