Syrian supper club & live music
Sat 1 April 2017, 19:00 – 22:00 BST
Join us for delicious Syrian food in a welcoming home in Brixton on 1 April 2017! We will be joined by special guests Lama Khayer and Julia Katharina. Lama is a singer from Syria and Julia is an oud player and singer who has taught music in Palestine. We are so happy to have a chance to listen to fabulous Levantine music.
We are a group of Londoners – Syrians and friends – working show solidarity with people caught up in Syria’s conflict and refugee crisis, through music, food and fundraising for people in need. We want to help individuals in Syria who are stuck in some of the country’s many enormous personal tragedies. We are raising money to get them urgent medical care, to get legal defense or to cope with disability and trauma. We also want to remind others and ourselves here in Europe that Syria has amazing generous traditions of hospitality.
We pay for all your food and drink, we cook for you for free, and we cover the costs of transferring money to people in need. So your ticket prices and donations go directly to people in need.
