Syringe Driver training for Registered Nurses working in Nursing Homes.
Suitable for both nurses new to using syringe drivers and those wanting to refresh their skills.
The learning outcomes of this training are:
- Understand how to maintain skills competency around setting up syringe drivers and where to find guidance and resources.
- Understand the common drugs used for symptom management at end of life and how to administer them safely.
- How to order a syringe driver from Medequip.
- Understand the indications for initiating a syringe driver.
- How to use SBARD to request a patient review.
- Know what equipment is required to set up a syringe driver.
- Understand the correct documentation required for the administration and monitoring of syringe drivers and where to find them.
- Demonstrate the process for setting up a syringe driver.
This course contributes 3hrs of CPD towards NMC revalidation.
The venue is the Boardroom Room which is situated on the ground floor in the Harry Fisher Building.
