Syringe Driver Training (McKinley T34 Syringe Driver)

About this Event
Cornwall Hospice Care are running a series of face-to-face training sessions on the safe and effective usage of the T34 McKinley syringe driver for subcutaneous use on adults. The training is for Registered Nurses and is suitable for first time users and staff requiring an annual update. This training session counts as 3 hours towards Continuing Professional Development required by the Nursing and Midwifery Council. The training will include:-
• Theory: Clinical governance, duties and responsibilities, indications for use, preparation, record keeping, and trouble shooting
• Practical: Simulation and assessment in the first time set up of syringe driver/change of prescription, and replacement syringes
• Pre-course reading: Cornwall Partnership NHS Foundation Trust Policy ‘Management of McKinley T34 syringe drivers for subcutaneous use on adults Policy and Procedure’.
A certificate will be awarded on successful completion of the simulated practical assessment and accurate completion of the Learning Checklist.
