About this event

  • Event lasts 3 hours

SafetyAt the beginning of our workshops, we aim to create a working group which is a safe, open and caring container. It is therefore essential that all participants will be required to agree to confidentiality.

What to expectDuring a constellation, we might use people or floor markers to represent elements of the issue, e.g. a person, an event, a location etc... By using representatives, an interactive live map of the issue emerges through which the issue holder can gain insight into the problem. Resolution is sought first by acknowledging what appears, and then by remedying this with resolving statements or movements until an optimal sense of ease and acceptance is experienced by all participants.

This is an experiential workshop in which everyone will participate, in some way, in every constellation. No prior knowledge is required. Participants representing elements in a constellation are only asked to report their body sensations, emotions, or anything that comes up.

DurationOur workshops are 3 hours long and will include a guided meditation, discussion, and about 2 or 3 constellations.

FeesWe do not charge fees as practitioners. Instead, we ask an upfront donation for the use of the space and the upkeep of St Ethelburga’s Centre for Reconciliation and Peace, the organisation which graciously lends its space to us. Issue holder or representative? The donation is the same for any participant, should they be representative or issue holder. This ‘Field-based’ approach to selecting the issue holders is in line with the original way of working of Bert Hellinger, and allows for focusing on what brings the most energy on the day. Those who feel ready to do a piece of work will be invited to raise their hand. So, please be clear that the opportunity to present your issue is not guaranteed. However, this process is deeply moving, and everyone present will, in one way or another, have a powerful and illuminating experience, whether you have brought the issue, participated as a representative, or held the space for the work in the outer circle. Constellation Work offers profound insight, deep connections and new understanding for everyone in the group.

What are systemic constellations?

Systemic Constellation is a powerful therapeutic methodology for exploring and resolving issues across a wide spectrum of applications such as family, relationships, work, friendship, health or creativity.

Modern psychology recognises that many of our challenges do not originate in our own personal history, but instead are rooted and influenced by the experiences of those who came before us. Emergent psychological theories acknowledge that the unresolved traumas of our ancestors can impact us in the here and now and can manifest for example as negative patterns, unhelpful dynamics, limiting behaviour, health problems or feelings of stuckness.

Systemic Constellations is a phenomeological approach that takes these transgenerational elements into account when exploring an issue. This gives the opportunity for deeper and wider exploration of interconnections.

What Systemic Constellations can help with?

Difficulty reaching your full potential

A pervading sense that you do not belong, are left out or are in the wrong place

Challenges to formulate healthy and successful relationships

Breakdown in family connections (e.g. not speaking with parents)

Financial struggles or concerns

Health issues

Addiction or self-sabotage

Finding the way forward after significant trauma or loss

Addressing inner turmoil
