Event description

The London Leadership Academy would like to invite you to a full day, interactive and dynamic, event entitled:

SYSTEMS LEADERSHIP LABORATORY™ delivered by Dr Jeanne Hardacre and Diane Davis from Impact4.

Systems Leadership, what does this really mean?

How do we extend and develop our leadership behaviour and mindset to influence the wider system alongside our organisational responsibilities?

The Systems Leadership Lab™ enables you to really explore how productive partnership and systems working can be developed and sustained within your own context. It is a dynamic, high impact, experiential learning event, in which we create a “live” organisational system in the room.

Significantly adapted and tailored to the current health and social care context, the Lab incorporates work by Barry Oshry and other leading thinkers and researchers in organisational cultures, innovation and collaborative leadership.

Participants will immerse themselves in working together in a ‘live’ organisational system in the room, with typical power differentials, diverse agendas, strongly-held identities and familiar organisational cultures. All participants take part in a series of learning activities, and we press the ‘pause’ button at frequent intervals to uncover why systems leadership is often so tricky.

We then work together to build a shared understanding of leading across systems and what it takes to empower a system beyond organisational boundaries. The first part of the morning is devoted to the immersive developmental experience, and the rest of the day focuses on applying this learning directly to leadership work in your own organisational and system contexts.

The patient and citizen perspective will be embedded into the learning experience throughout the day.

For OD Leads, the Systems Leadership Lab will help you to:

  • immerse yourself in fresh and relevant thinking about how systems leadership can be developed and strengthened in the systems you serve
  • enhance your personal leadership effectiveness within and across organisations
  • relate to colleagues, partner agencies, service users and other leaders more effectively
  • influence approaches to systems leadership development in your stakeholder organisations
  • build a shared understanding across your OD network of systems development approaches
  • extend your repertoire of systems leadership skills and understanding
  • explore how systems leadership beyond organisational boundaries can create sustainable and transformed systems of care

As well as supporting the broad context of STP developments, this offer to OD Leads is aligned with the Developing People-Improving Care national framework.

Please wear comfortable clothing as you are likely to be moving around during the day!
