Event description

Systems Leadership Laboratory

This session is aimed at:

  • Leaders who are engaged in supporting delviery of system transformation

  • HRDs and learning and development leads

  • OD practitioners

  • Leadership programme alumni

We increasingly need to work and lead collectively across our health and social care communities to meet the needs of the people we serve. We talk a lot about Systems Leadership, but what does this really mean? How do we extend and develop our leadership behaviour and mind set to influence the wider system alongside our organisational responsibilities?

This Learning Laboratory is based on Barry Oshry’s work on system awareness, which will enable you to really explore how productive partnership and systems working can be developed and sustained within your own context. It is a dynamic, high impact, experiential learning event in which we create a real organisational system in the room.

During the first part of the morning, we’ll experience typical power dynamics and we’ll uncover why systems leadership is often really tricky. So much seems to get in the way – not least hierarchies, differing agendas, organisational identities and disempowering cultures.

We will work together to build a shared understanding of leading across systems, and for the rest of the day we will focus on translating this into practice in your own contexts.

The Systems Leadership Lab will equip you to:

  • Enhance your personal leadership effectiveness beyond within and across organisations

  • Relate to colleagues, partner agencies, service users and other leaders more effectively

  • Influence approaches to systems leadership in your stakeholder organisations

  • Build a shared understanding across your network of systems leadership approaches

  • Extend your repertoire of systems leadership skills and understanding

These sessions will be facilitated by Impact4

These workshops will be particularly beneficial if you can attend with colleagues from your organisation or partners from across your system. We would therefore encourage you to bring colleagues with you to the workshop so that you can learn together in this dynamic environment.

Please be aware that while it is free for you to attend this workshop, each space represents an investment of £225. Please refer to our cancellation policy here
