Event Information
Description
This event is for DfT employees and employees of DfT partner organisations only
Systems thinking is
-
A simple but powerful technique for understanding and explaining complexity
-
a way of identifying and mapping the causes and effects of real world situations
-
an interactive tool for understanding complex and dynamic systems, especially those where human behaviour is part of the system, and where there are multiple actors
-
thinking of the system being developed in the context it will operate
This seminar will provide an introduction to systems thinking, how it works, and what the benefits are, looking at examples of where it has been used.
It will also include a chance to have a go at building your own systems thinking map in groups, to better understand how you might use it in your work, and introduce the DfT Systems thinking Toolit, which can be found here: https://intranet.dft.gsi.gov.uk/page/systems-thinking-toolkit
