Event description

Description

Ever wondered how research in surgery is performed? The South Yorkshire Surgical Research Group (SYSuRG) is pleased to invite medical students and foundation doctors to an interactive workshop on clinical research in surgery. All are welcome, whether or not you have prior research experience.

Delegates will be introduced to basic study methodologies and given tips on how to design and perform their own research projects. This will be followed by a 'sandpit' exercise in which a number of surgical research proposals will be discussed in small groups. This will generate project designs that can be undertaken collaboratively with SYSuRG colleagues.

The course promises to offer a valuable introduction to the world of surgical research. There will be opportunities to network with students and trainees pursuing academic surgical careers and a certificate of attendance will be provided for your portfolio. Pizza will be provided too!
