Overview
Who is it aimed at
Psychotherapy trainees and TA Qualified Practitioners.
Workshop Outline
Since Fritz Perls in the 60s, psychotherapists have been using ‘chair work’ in a range of disciplines to support clients. This workshop will explore some of the common ways of using ‘chair work’ in client work considering both TA and non-TA approaches including, 2 chair work, 5 chair work, parent interview, child exploration, and family constellations. We will cover what the purpose is of using chair work, and how to practically do it. This will be held within the frame of multiplicity.
Aims
The aim of this training is to give an overview of chair work, utilising Tenconi (2020), and Bromberg’s (1996) ideas around multiplicity of self. This is with the aim of supporting the participants to feel confident to use this as a tool in their work.
Learning Outcomes
Participants from this course should have a good understanding of the chair work, its background, and feel confident how to use it with their clients.
