Who is it aimed at
Psychotherapy trainees and TA Qualified Practitioners.
Workshop Outline
Emotional literacy (1996) can seem far too daunting when we or our clients are disassociated from feelings or our bodily responses. In this workshop we will draw from both physiological and phycological fields theories and practices to support clients make sense of and unstick some of their feelings.
We will consider the Vasomotoric Cycle (Eiden, 2002), Efferent Distribution of Primary Regulatory Networks (Perry, 2010), as well as Emotional Literacy (Stiner, 1996), and Rackets.
Aims
The aim is to give an overview of different theories and approaches to bring both the body and mind together to support clients in managing big, traumatic, or cut off feelings.
Learning Outcomes
Participants will get a deep understanding of the Body-Mind connection of feelings, and how to support clients with stuck feelings.
