About this event
Key Speakers confirmed Gavin Hayman and Emma Allison.
Gavin Hayman: A Saboteurs Guide to Wellbeing
Fidor Dostoevsky, that famous observer of the human condition, famously wrote that ‘the greatest happiness is to know the source of unhappiness’. The search for unhappiness may seem odd but if we can pinpoint the things that sap away at our happiness – and work out what we do on a daily basis to sabotage our own wellbeing – then we can work to avoid them and perhaps to the opposite. This session will explore the pitfalls we can end up in and how to avoid them in order to secure wellbeing.
Emma Allison: Know Yourself, Know the Child
This session provides an opportunity to reflect on our emotional responses – and those of our pupils – and explore the reasons behind them. We will unpick the relevance of early childhood experiences, the significance of attachment theory and the anxiety response to support practitioners to identify the signs, reasons for and causes of wellbeing difficulties. We will investigate how practitioners can positively influence classroom behaviour and improve wellbeing all round.
Plus other guest speakers on the day.
Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
