In line with our vision for our unique initiative for empowering, educating, & equipping faith communities to effectively tackle all forms of Domestic Violence and Abuse (DVA) that occur in their environments, we are hosting the national educational conference specifically focussed on the church.
The highly experienced & knowledgeable educators will teach on the nature, consequences, & impact of DVA as it is experienced in the church / Christian community. They will also give direction on the best practical approaches to apply in a way that provides improved outcomes for adult & child victims. There will be bold emphasis on how to facilitate radical work with perpetrators of DVA, given that they are the key factors un causing DVA. The church will also be inspired to become an agent of social change in society, especially regarding pandemics like DVA.
Dubbed "Tackling Domestic Violence & Abuse In Faith Communities: A FOCUS ON THE CHURCH", the event is open to national Church leaders, other Christians, academics, politicians, survivors, & multi-discipline professionals who work with victims and perpetrators of DVA.
Topics covered will be:
- Complex Dynamics Affecting Adult & Child Victims In The Church

- Spiritual Abuse In The Context Of DVA
- The Experiences Of Migrant Victims
- Child Sexual Abuse & Exploitation
- The Collision Of Faith & Culture
- Post-separation DVA
- The Best Approach To Tackling Domestic Violence In The Church

When & Where
We are particularly dedicated to assisting adult & child survivors of Domestic Violence & Abuse (DVA), from diverse backgrounds, to rebuild & restore their lives, after they flee from the radically devastating complex experiences of DVA. We vitally focus on empowering them to reach their full potential, thereby experience the fullness of life.
In addition, we have a specialist service targeted at educating, equipping, & empowering faith communities to respond effectively to DVA cases that occur within their environment. This includes radically challenging perpetrators. More information available at www.kahrmelwellness.com.
