Tackling Northern Gangs, Guns, violence and Knife culture- essential 1 day workshop

The Uk’s foremost training course for practitioners working with gangs.

Experts have warned that violent gangs are ‘embedded within our culture’ and are becoming an unfortunate vehicle through which people want to define themselves. There has been a 14% year on year increase in Knife crime since 2016 with media coverage of stabbings, shootings and fatalities resulting from gang rivalry. The question is what development, toolkits and understandings can practitioners benefit from to combat and challenge these growing phenomena? This workshop provides solutions; facilitated by Raymond Douglas (Gangology) a National Practitioner, advisor and activist with over 20 years of experience in the field. It is an essential one-day CPD for any practitioner working in the field or wanting to learn more about the dynamics within this complex arena.

The learning objectives are:

Gain a shared understanding of the drivers for the current spike in Gangs & Serious youthviolence particularly in the North of England.
• Cascade practical resources available to Practitioners in terms of effective andcredible interventions
• Map the current climate of youth violence and gang culture in the North & Nationally.
• Reflect on best practice and explore different models of intervention
• Explore the intersectionality of Gang centred offending, Criminal Behaviour & Pathways toExtremism, CSE and related phenomena.

By the end of the course delegates will have a more informed understanding of Gangs & Serious Youth Violence and will be equipped with real time practical tools to engage & challenge young peoples views especially those at risk of life threatening behaviour involving Guns, Gangs & Serious violence.
