STEM careers are experiencing some of the highest levels of growth of any industry within the UK, yet there are still significant issues preventing those from less advantaged backgrounds to fully participate in and benefit from this growth. Research conducted by The Bridge Group has found that the tech industry is unrepresentative of the UK workforce, notably regarding gender and socio-economic background.

In April 2021, as as a result of a ground-breaking partnership with the Hg Foundation, upReach launched the Tech500 Programme to help address these challenges: a tailored programme of support for 500 undergraduates from less-advantaged backgrounds.

On Wednesday 9th February, we will be hosting a webinar to discuss the progress and impact we've made on the programme so far, and provide further insight into how employers can support the Tech500 Programme and contribute to further progress.
