Event description

Description

Training Course for Teachers at Imperial College (TaCTIC)

Course description:

This is an interactive one-day course designed to give you a mix of theory and practical guidance on developing your teaching skills that can be applied in the workplace environment.

It will cover 'What is learning?', 'Learning needs assessment', 'Questioning styles', 'Lesson planning and 'Feedback.'

It will help you to structure your teaching sessions with the opportunity to practice these newly acquired skills in a short teaching session of your own. You will also partake in group work to aid understanding of educational concepts. The course incorporates core aspects of clinical teaching with small group teaching and consistently links to medical educational theory.

Medical students join us for the afternoon part of the day, bringing examples of their own real life cases for mini tutorials with delegates, followed by feedback.

The course will run from registration at 9.00am until close by latest 4.00pm, with coffee breaks and lunch provided.

Attendees

The course is open to all GPs teaching in a community or primary care setting, as well as F2s, STs, nurses, HCAs and any other healthcare professionals/specialties.
