Description

Pianist Tadashi Imai presents a concert to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Poland’s independence at Polish Social & Cultural Association, London.

Tadashi Imai began his piano study at the age of 11 with Kazuyo Ueda and Mieko Nakagawa in Japan. He then studied with Hiroshi Tajika, Hidemitsu Hayashi, and Shuku Iwasaki at the Toho Gakuen College of Music. He moved to the US to study with Tamas Ungar at the Texas Christian University. And then he was awarded a scholarship to study at the Royal Academy of Music, London where he studied piano with Christopher Elton and chamber music with Clifford Benson and Michael Dussek. 

He has won several international competitions in Japan and the United States, and as a Grand Prize winner of the Grand Prix International Chopin Competition, he made his New York debut at Carnegie Hall in 2000. Since then, he has appeared at major concert venues across the world including Wigmore Hall, Royal Festival Hall, St Martin-in-the-Fields (London), Suntory Hall (Tokyo), and the Romanian Athenaeum (Bucharest).

He has worked with eminent musicians including Maxim Vengerov, Thomas Brandis, Stephan Hough, Pierre-Laurent Aimard, György Pauk, Norma Fisher, and the Osaka Symphoniker.
