Description

TAG Annual President’s Conference

About the Conference

The annual TAG Conference is an excellent forum for members and non-members alike to get an update on current trends and to exchange information and ideas.

Transport networks need to perform to a high degree of resilience and recover quickly when exposed to incidents or events. Network owners and operators need to understand how the world is changing and the impacts and adaptation requirements from climate change, society, resources, skills and technology. Future proofing our assets will require unprecedented collaboration between transport modes, ‘no regret’ design options and flexibility so that future changes can be easily built in. So how will our transport stakeholders ensure resilience is planned and delivered to preserve our assets?

This conference will give a practical overview of key future trends and the steps network designers, operators and investors need to consider. This includes:

  • Climate change and severe weather events affecting transport resilience
  • Getting the best out of asset management to improve network resilience and capacity
  • Future technologies, from autonomous vehicles to new long life road designs
  • An increased reliance on accurate asset knowledge and dynamic performance.
  • How to consider previously underestimated risks from misinformation and terrorism
  • How to practically integrate future trends into current designs.

The programme provides delegates with an opportunity to understand future issues affecting transport networks in an urban environment and latest thinking and innovative ways to address them. Presentations will include a range of practitioners in the public and private sectors.
