About this event
Tai chi (taiji / 太極) is a Chinese martial art form practised by people around the world to help release stress and to improve health and wellbeing. Taiji movements are slow and gentle, and aim to work both the mind and body.
These lunchtime sessions are designed as an exercise class with taiji-inspired movements - they're suitable for everyone, whether you have practised taiji for a while or are just trying it out for the first time.
We will practice a few taiji movements in detail, before joining them together in a taiji form.
Preparation required:
- Please wear loose, comfortable workout clothing.
- You can choose flat shoes or bare feet.
- You'll need a quiet space indoors or outdoors where you are able to move around.
- Bring some drinking water.
Recommended for:
Adults and 10+ children. The workshop is not suitable for very young children due to concentration required for the slow tai chi movements. The class is suitable for beginners.
