About the weekend
Do you have a passion to change the world around you, but want to focus and align your energies better with the practical realities of the world you live in? Want to live out your values more effectively in your workplace, family and friendships, avoid burnout and disillusion, and inspire those you most need to be in conversation withThen join Take One Action at our Changemakers Weekend exploring "How To Change
The World and Stay Human?" For two days at the beautiful Comrie Croft in Perthshire there will be workshops, good food, walks, talks, film and conversation with like-spirited peers, social change experts and creative campaigners exploring how to sustain our love for a better world.
With your help, we will be curating a space where people who care about a better world can be nourished, connect with each other and be better equipped to bring positive change to the world in a way that honours both personal and collective wellbeing. In addition to sharing things we’ve learnt, there will be opportunities to be further resourced in skills that can help us in our quest to be change makers and nurture our personal and collective wellbeing.
Including sessions on Connecting With Our Motivations, Visioning Change, Creativity in Action, Justice With Joy, Truth-telling With Care. And special guests including: Karine Polwart ("a passionate, perceptive songwriter" Uncut), Verene Nicolas (transformative change facilitator), Simon Bateson (Artistic Director, Take One Action), Kathy Galloway (Iona Community), Mike Small (The Fife Diet), Rebecca McQuillan (The Sunday Herald), Kirstie Shirra (writer-campaigner) and more.
Accommodation for the weekend is principally in small, shared single sex rooms (4 bed or 6 bed) with very limited availability for couples/families. Camping is an option at a small reduction in cost (£140), which may suit some attendees coming with partners/children.
Cost (includes meals for those staying in rooms):
• Standard £160 per attendee (in shared, single-sex rooms, inc meals)
• For couple/family room £350 for the room (3 available, maximum 2 adults/attendees, 2 children, inc meals)
• Camping (for pitch and 1 adult attending with meals) £140 (self-catering for any additional adults/children camping in your party)
A limited number of concession places (£110) are available for people who would are keen to attend but would genuinely struggle to sacrifice other things to afford it. Please state your concession need in your booking. This is a self-funding weekend, and the standard £160 is what we need to recoup to continue to organise events like this. Thanks for your understanding!
