Take pArt Challenge: Teacher Training - Arts Award Online Webinar

Tues 10th July 2018 4pm - 6pm

An online training session delivered by Annabel Thomas, Arts Development Manager at Trinity College London, offering information and advice on how to embed the Take pArt Challenge into Arts Award qualifications. In addition, there will be a Q&A about how to apply for the Take pArt Challenge.

Arts Award and the Take pArt Challenge

Trinity College London and Arts Award are thrilled to have joined forces with Children & the Arts to show you how your pupils can achieve Arts Award through your participation in the Take pArt Challenge.

What is Arts Award?
Arts Award is a suite of portfolio-based qualifications designed to support young people aged up to 25 to develop as artists and arts leaders. Arts Award is managed by Trinity College London in association with Arts Council England working with 10 regional Bridge organisations. Offering Arts Award can contribute to a school receiving Artsmark status (a quality mark for cultural provision awarded by Arts Council England).

Open to all young people in all art forms, Arts Award links well to visual art, sculpture, drama and theatre, music and other art forms on offer in your school or organisation. Young people record their arts journey in a log book or portfolio which is assessed by an Arts Award adviser (in schools this is usually a teacher). There are five levels: Discover, Explore, Bronze, Silver and Gold. For levels above Discover, work is then moderated by Trinity College London.

How does it work with the Take pArt Challenge?

At its core, Arts Award is about taking part and developing arts skills. By taking part in the Take pArt Challenge, young people will have already completed many elements of an Arts Award. This training session will help you identify which Arts Award level is the most appropriate for your young people, plus further information on how to access resources, support and further training if needed.

Details of how to log in to the online webinar will be emailed out to delegates a fortnight before the event.
