The development of fundamental gross and fine motor skills are important as they form the basis for more complex skills to enable children’s participation in classroom activities such as holding and using a pen/pencil to write as well as using their hands to manipulate other tools and materials.

This workshop will explore:

  • The underlying sensory motor components required for effective fine motor control
  • The use of observation in identifying areas for support
  • Practical strategies for support
  • Low cost no cost universal and targeted activities

This hands on CPD event will make particular links relating to literacy:

  • Grammar
  • Oracy

It will also consider how the above aspects can be supported through PE and physical activity.
