About this event
FLEXIBLE START DATE!
This course has a flexible start date and you can sign-up any time until 10th October.
Our Taketime Primary and Secondary Schools Training is now available online. The online part of the course should only take about 3 hours to complete and is available over a five-week period so you can work at your own pace. The practical element involves working with a group of children or young people, so we do advise that you give yourself enough time to organise this. The aim of the online training is to enable participants to understand the Taketime vision and to enable them to use Taketime with whole classes, groups or individuals in a school setting.
When you book via eventbrite, you will be enrolled to the Taketime course by Amanda from the Taketime team. You will receive confirmation of your place via the course host, TheologyX. If you have any questions, email us at schools@taketime.org.uk.
Contexts in which Taketime has been successful include:
- Schools
- Youthwork
- Worship
- Outreach Programmes
- Discipleship
- Prisons
- Hospitals
- Hospices
- Pastoral Care
- Prayer Spaces
WHAT WILL I LEARN?
The course has five modules:
- After completing module 1, the Student Practitioner will understand the origins, scope and uniqueness of Taketime meditations
- After completing module 2, the Student Practitioner will be able to compare the different ways Taketime impacts people and can distinguish the different ways Taketime can be used
- After completing Module 3a, you will have the skills to lead a meditation and facilitate a Sharing Session.
- Module 4 guides you through how to introduce Taketime Meditations to your class and how to prepare the children to relax and be still together.
- Module 5 guides you through leading your first Taketime Meditation and Sharing Session with your class.
Finally we will ask you to evaluate your experience
CAN ANYONE COMPLETE THE TAKETIME PRACTITIONERS COURSE?
Yes. The course is open to all those who work with children and young people in a school setting. You do not need to be a practising Christian, but all Practitioners are expected to abide by the values and principles of Taketime which are outlined in the course.
Please note, on completion of this course, you will need to purchase an annual licence of £36.00 per school. This gives you access to all the Taketime children's scripts and support from the Taketime team. Your membership also provides essential funding, enabling Taketime to continue.
Due to the evolving nature of Taketime, all Practitioners are required to attend a refresher course at least once every two years. This course is offered to Taketime Practitioners at half the usual cost.
If, on completion of the Taketime Schools Pracitioner Training, you would like to attend the Taketime Practitioner training, this too is offered at half the usual cost. Please ask for details.
