Event description
Taketime Together training day- for those who would like to be able to lead groups or support others to use the Taketime meditation resource

About this Event

Hull Community Church is hosting a Taketime Training Day. The aim of the Training Day is to enable participants to understand the vision and to be able to run Taketime Together in its various formats.

WHAT ARE TAKETIME TOGETHER GROUPS?

Taketime Together groups are groups that run Taketime meditations led by trained Taketime Practitioners using official scripts.

The purpose of the groups is fundamentally missional, i.e. they exist to:

support those who are seeking

help them encounter Jesus and

help them grow in their faith.

A group would need a core of committed attendees who will welcome and assist with the aims above.

CAN ANYONE ATTEND A TAKETIME TRAINING DAY?

Whether you know you want to lead a group or whether you just want to find out more, you are welcome to attend.

CAN ANYONE LEAD TAKETIME TOGETHER GROUPS?

If, following the training you wish to become a Taketime Together group leader, you will need to:

be sponsored by a Church which would have overall responsibility for the group

be DBS checked - as vulnerable people might become part of a group

Someone who has done the Training Day is a Probationary Taketime Practitioner (PTP) and someone who has satisfactorily led 25 sessions can become an Accredited Taketime Practitioner (ATP).

TRAINING DAY CONTENT

The day will include three main aspects:

The Taketime story and vision

Skills Workshop – leading a Taketime Meditation and facilitating a Sharing Session

How to set up and run your Taketime Together Group

There will also be a full Taketime Together meditation, learning about our values and principles, understanding the nuts and bolts of running Taketime and time to answer your questions.

Please note that ideally, you need two people to run Taketime Together – one to lead the meditation and one to lead the sharing part of the session. Leaders alternate in leading the meditation and the sharing - and are there to support and mentor each other as well as praying for one another and for the attendees.

Therefore, if possible, please bring a co-leader with you to the Training Day. The training is also suitable for those who are thinking of running Taketime but want to find out more so please do invite them along.

The cost of the training is £25 per person and includes refreshments through the day and a light lunch.

We have a limited number of free tickets available for people who would not otherwise be able to attend. Please contact claire@hullcommunitychurch.com to enquire about these.
