About the Masterclass: Taking Care of Business

  • Want to make GDPR work for you and learn about good information handling?

  • Want to reduce business crime by keeping your business data secure?

  • Want to receive data security advice for small businesses and understand what to do when it goes wrong?

  • Want to understand the changing landscape on payments and how you can be prepared?

In a data and payment driven world it can seem a complex landscape for many small businesses and it is more important than ever to keep your business and your customer’s data secure. In a data-driven world, good information handling makes good business sense. This masterclass from the UK’s data protection regulator focuses on the lessons learned for small businesses since the introduction of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018. Learn how to enhance your reputation, increase customer confidence, and save both time and money by making sure the personal data you’re responsible for is accurate, relevant and safe.

FSB Payments provider Worldpay will also share their experience and help you understand the current mind-set of the UK consumer, what they expect from their customer experience how that might impact taking payments in your business safely and securely.

FSB is teaming up with the Information Commissioner's Office (the UK’s data protection regulator), and Worldpay (the UK’s leading payments provider) to tour the UK offering masterclasses to small businesses so you can develop the skills and confidence you need to protect your business.

For many small businesses, the security of payment information and any personal data you hold on your clients and customers can seem a complex landscape to navigate, but it's more important than ever that you get it right.

You will be learning from industry and regulatory experts and will have the opportunity to ask any questions as well as being able to meet and network with other small business owners in your local area. There will also be a chance to network with fellow attendees.
