Taking Care of the Therapist
Fri, 6 Oct 2017, 09:00 – Sat, 7 Oct 2017, 16:00 BST
Summary of course – After 25 years in this field, I have realised that the burnout rate for my colleagues as therapists is alarming. We are so intent on supporting our clients that we often forget to take care of ourselves, with burnout being inevitable. This workshop will explore the core of us as therapists & how to become compassionate & mindful to ourselves. At the same time we shall explore our attachments styles with ourselves & the thinking relating to our attachment styles & the impact on our inner & outer body.
Who should attend -
Anyone working in the world of counselling & psychotherapy
Practitioners looking to utilise these skills
Practitioners wanting personal & professional development
Professionals in the caring professions such as social workers, teachers, doctors & nurses
At the end of the course you will have a deep understanding of you & the impact of your work on you. A personal well-being plan will be developed for continuous reflection on your self-care. A certificate is only provided if you attend the full 2 days.
