Event description

Description

The D2N2 Teaching Partnership has a commitment to improve the quality of social work training, and to enhance opportunities for ongoing learning and career development. In part, this will be achieved through changes to the curricular content of social work qualification courses, and improvements in the way we support our social work students on placement. But we recognise that it’s equally important to ensure that YOU, as an experienced social worker, can access relevant, timely, and practice-focussed professional and personal development opportunities – that keep your knowledge, skills, and practice, up to date.

This event will give experienced social workers a chance to meet with their peers, and those involved in workforce development, to discuss some of the current issues that are relevant to their professional development and their career aspirations.

Workshops will include:

  • The Knowledge & Skills Statements (KSS) – an opportunity to self-evaluate your own skills and expertise against those of the KSS and explore how the KSS work in practice

  • Managing Yourself – encouraging you, as a practitioner, to focus on issues such as time management, prioritising work, dealing with complexity, effective communication, and managing your own well-bein

  • Managing your Career – what are your options on the social work career ladder, how can you get there, and who can support you

There is free parking available on-site at this venue

Lunch is not provided, but there is a cafeteria on site should you wish to purchase a lunch at the end of the event

Please notify us of any special requirements you may have, in advance of the event
