Taking Flight

Recommended for children 6+ and their families

If you had to take a long journey away from home and you could only take one item with you, what would it be?

Armed with only a backpack of favourites items, follow one child’s continental adventures across deserts, wind-whipped mountains and the inky depths of the ocean, propelled by the child’s gently-repeating mantra ‘just keep moving forward’.

Expect live drawing, evocative, worldwide soundscapes, remarkable simplicity and a profound sense of what it is to be human as our little hero’s perilous journey quietly unpacks the importance of having a place to call ‘home’.

Running time approx. 45 minutes

To encourage everyone to come and try our new theatre venture at Yate Library, we are asking you to pay what you want for our first performances. Simply watch the show and, at the end, put a donation in the bucket. Just pay whatever you think the experience deserves.

By Margarita Sidirokastriti; Directed by Craig Edwards;
Designed by Edwina Bridgeman; Sound Design by Sam Halmarack
Performed by Magarita Sidrokastriti
