Description

A walk round the West Bar Area “The Shaftesbury Avenue of Sheffield” visiting the sites of the long gone music halls and singing rooms (pubs), with tales of the managers, artistes and clientele of these establishments. The tour incorporates the “Totems” of the award winning Grey to Green transformation of West Bar, representing music hall, street life, water, brewing and industry.

Finish: Outside Shakespeare’s, 146-148 Gibraltar Street S3 8UA.

Travel: Nearest bus stops - Arundel Gate, Nearest Tram - Cathedral

Parking: NCP or Q Park on Arundel Gate

Terrain: City centre, paving stone, tarmac and some cobbles. Roads to be crossed at suitable crossings. Shelter available at most stop off points, if raining. Route can be altered slightly in relation to any access issues.
